This weekend Maison Mercer nightclub in downtown Toronto will host DJs Lauren Lane on Friday and MAKJ on Saturday providing a great weekend of events for club and concert-goers.
LA-based DJ/Producer Lauren Lane will play Friday night to celebrate the birthday of Toronto industry veteran Ralf Madi who is the owner of Capture Group, a company that owns and operates nightlife venues such as Maison Mercer and Everleigh. They also run several restaurants such as Portland Variety and Blowfish.
Lauren Lane has been spending her summers in Ibiza and has played DC-10, Circoloco, Rumors, and more of the islands most sought after events. Lauren Lane is also a friendly name to the New York house scene. As an international touring artist, she has played Warung Beach Club, Rio Music Conference, Coachella and Decible. She has releases on No.19, Visionquest, Edible and Saved Records, where she held the top selling track on the label with her release “Everyday Weekend” in 2014.
Lauren Lane will also be playing at The BPM Festival in Playa Del Carmen this January 2017.
On Saturday, Californian DJ MAKJ (Mackenzie Johnson) will headline Maison Mercer with Toronto’s Joe Ghost performing as well.
Starting his mixing career at 15, MAKJ has become a huge success at a very young age (now aged 26). He was trained and mentored by DJ AM and was learning scratching and turntablism by the age of 17. He performed at the 2013 and 2014 Ultra Music Festivals in Miami and in 2014, MAKJ was asked to join Bingo Players on his first tour through North America.
Also performing is Toronto native Joe Ghost whose success in the past few years included his breakthrough track “Are You Ready” with Hardwell which hit #1 on the Beatport charts and was voted by DJ MAG as the biggest track at Miami Music Week in 2013.
