Finalists for the 2016 Trillium Book Awards

The Ontario government’s prize for literature, the Trillium Book Award, has announced their finalists for the 2016 prizes.

Each year, Ontario authors and poets in both french and english are honoured with the award that gifts $20,000 for winners, $2500 for their publishers and $500 for all finalists.  Poetry awards see $10,000 to winners and their publishers receive $2,000. Finalists also get $500.

Previous winners of the award have included Alice Munro, Margaret Atwood, Austin Clarke, Thomas King, Michael Ondaatje, Andrée Lacelle and François Paré.

Here are this year’s finalists. The winners will be announced on June 22nd, 2016.

English-language Finalists for the Trillium Book Award:
