What to see at Toronto’s Interior Design Show 2019

Feeling inspired to make some updates at home or office? The Interior Design Show (IDS) is full of inspiration and ideas. IDS brings the latest in everything imaginable for design consideration from sustainable, environment friendly, family friendly, trends and more. Lots to see and do here. Meet with experts from international brands to home-grown talent. Take in seminars with industry leaders and check out inspiring exhibits from emerging artists to well-established designers. IDS takes place this weekend from January 17 to 20th at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre (South Building).

Here are some highlights worth checking out…

Interior Design Show Toronto

OPENING NIGHT PARTY: Thursday, January 17. One inspiring night mingling with the who’s who in the design world. Be the first to preview the show. The night’s theme “Better Together” with a portion of the night’s ticket price going to Habitat for Humanity GTA. Public can purchase tickets to this event.

QUESTLOVE: Saturday, January 19. The drummer, DJ, producer, culinary entrepreneur, New York Times bestselling author, and member of The Roots is featured in the keynote presentation with Questlove and Adam Sandow in conversation with Lifestyle Editor Maryam Siddiqi. Ticketed event.

MONOGRAM X ZAC POSEN: In partnership with Monogram and international fashion designer Zac Posen, celebrate the world of design, food, and entertainment. The designer has collaborated with the luxury brand and will unveil the project for the first time to the Canadian market. Panel discussion and meet and greets also planned.

RADO Design Inspired by Nature Competition Exhibition: RADO and IDS have partnered to bring the internationally recognized RADO Star Prize competition to Canada for the first time, showcasing the work of up-and-coming Canadian designers. Theme for this competition Design Inspired by Nature Collection. Finalists and winner will be revealed.

STUDIO NORTH & PROTOTYPE: One of our favourite features every year at IDS offers up some unique goods from over 65 Canadian artisans and designers. Find limited edition and custom made collections here.

Interior Design Show Toronto

INTERIOR TOURS: Take in tours of some of the most interesting interiors in the city created by award-winning firms. From offices, community spaces and private homes, gain insight from the firms who have created these spaces. Ticketed events.

GREEN BUILDING IN 2019: What you need to know now and what’s next. Saturday, January 19. Part of the Future Cities programme. This seminar will focus on five of the most influential “green building” trends. Lead by Jeff Ronson, Canadian Green Building Council.
