Different Types of All on Four Dental Implants

All оn four іs a method оf tooth restoration which utilizes only four dental implants tо support an entire arch оf permanent teeth, often recommended when patients have experienced significant tooth loss.

Two front implants are placed vertically while the remaining two have an angled placement (referred tо as “zygomatic”) which allows dentists tо complete placement оf an arch оf teeth even when bone conditions are less than ideal.

Consider all оn four dental implants for a comprehensive and long-lasting solution tо tooth loss.

1. Zirconia

Zirconia is an artificial ceramic material designed to simulate natural tooth structure. It’s less likely to change colour over time and doesn’t leave any metallic taste like titanium implants can do, making them stronger and more fracture-resistant than traditional dental materials while its wear resistance helps prevent the development of bruxism and parafunctional habits which could potentially cause irreparable tooth damage.

The All-on-4 procedure utilizes two front implants that lie vertically and two specialized rear implants which lie at an angle, enabling professionals to safely place a full-arch fixed bridge even when bone conditions are less than ideal – often without needing costly bone grafting procedures.

Before any All on Four procedure begins, an extensive examination and consultation will take place, which includes taking bite impressions of both jaws to create molds for testing the fit of various components of All on Four as well as creating wax test dentures to evaluate function and comfort of All-on-4 replacement teeth replacement solutions.

2. Acrylic

Acrylic (or polymethyl methacrylate) has been around for about 100 years and its production began to accelerate significantly during the 1930s. Acrylic plastic looks just like glass yet is much more impact-resistant and lightweight, providing many applications.

As is true with plastics, acrylic is a polymer material composed of many linked molecules linked together by long molecular chains. This enables acrylic to be easily formed into various shapes by casting, pouring, or extrusion processes.

Rohm and Haas Company introduced acrylic to the public as Plexiglass; since then other brands, such as Lucite by DuPont have appeared. All brands share common characteristics: durable yet light construction with superior optical clarity that resists UV rays; this makes acrylic an excellent material choice.

3. Porcelain

All on Four dental implants offer many advantages over traditional dentures, including longevity and food restrictions. Regular oral hygiene and proper maintenance is necessary to keep them looking their best over 40+ years. Furthermore, All on Four implants do away with messy pastes and adhesives which must be maintained as well as restrictions when eating certain foods.

The All on Four technique replaces both arch of teeth with a fixed bridge using four implants, in order to prevent further jaw bone degradation while simultaneously improving smile aesthetics and function. It provides an ideal solution for patients unable to wear conventional dentures.

The All on Four procedure can be performed under either local or general anesthesia and involves inserting four implants into your jawbone, each at an angled position to penetrate deeper into the bone than traditional implants and bond with it for greater bone healing potential. Finally, these implants are topped off with acrylic or porcelain prosthetic teeth.

4. Titanium

Implants consist of titanium screws paired with artificial teeth that act as permanent solutions for missing or broken teeth. This procedure can restore both upper and lower arch of teeth, improving speech and chewing function as well as smile aesthetics significantly. Furthermore, implants are built to outlive traditional dentures.

Before commencing All on Four treatment, a comprehensive examination is conducted with each patient to evaluate their oral health and history. This may involve taking x-rays, digital 3D scans or physically inspecting their mouth so as to allow the dentist to identify any issues which need addressing prior to proceeding with surgery.

The All-on-four technique makes use of angled dental implants, enabling professionals to safely place a fixed bridge using only four dental implants. While traditional implants must be placed directly against bone, two angled implants allow professionals to safely position an artificial bridge even when conditions for placement may not be ideal.
