Legends of Warcraft: The 5 Mightiest NPCs in Azeroth’s History

World of Warcraft is one of the most popular multiplayer online games in the world. This is the MMO that people play most often and claim to know pretty well. In order to balance the difficulty level and player interest in the game, Blizzard keeps making big changes to the game all the time, so the game content is dynamic. New raids are regularly added to WoW, which makes it difficult for some players to complete encounters and defeat all the bosses in the raid. Luckily, with the WoW Boost and skilled gamers on your side, you can get just anything in the game — gear, achievements, mounts, and more. Turn to professional gamers, and they will level your character with ease. This is as easy as it sounds.

Throughout its history, Azeroth has witnessed the emergence of countless characters, including heroes, villains, and leaders. All of them have left a lasting impression on players throughout the beloved game franchise. While casual gamers may recognize characters like Thrall, Arthas, and Illidan, other equally significant figures are less well-known. In this post, we’ve compiled a list of five legendary NPCs from Azeroth’s history that truly deserve your attention.

Tyrande Whisperwind

Tyrande Whisperwind was born in Suramar almost 14,000 years ago. She is one of the oldest native leaders still alive in Azeroth. Tyrande has been in charge of the Night Elves for over 10,000 years. Despite her age, her achievements date back to her early years. Tyrande outclassed Illidan and Malfurion as children, even though they went on to become the greatest practitioners of their respective crafts. Growing up, Tyrande’s role as a priestess was enhanced by her responsibility to guide the Night Elves, making her a strong general.

Perhaps Tyrande’s most remarkable accomplishment, though, was her metamorphosis into the Night Warrior, Elune’s celestial operative. With her twin blades in place of her bow, Tyrande transformed into a god-fuelled vengeance agent capable of channeling Elune’s wrath onto normally extraordinarily strong enemies like Nathanos Blightcaller. She even has the power to challenge Banshee Queen Sylvanas, who is empowered by the Maw.

Zovaal, The Jailer

Zovaal was formerly regarded as the Arbiter, presiding over the afterlife, and one of the Primordial Eternal Ones who ruled over death. After Zovaal foresaw a peril that the First Ones’ creation, Azeroth and its Ordering, would not be able to handle, the Eternal Ones disregarded his warnings and locked him up in the Maw. He then tried to take the Eternal Ones’ authority for himself.

Zovaal loved his duty as the Jailer of Souls, responsible for the destiny of the damned who were brought to his kingdom. But in reality, all he wanted was to go to Azeroth, seize the planet, and destroy it. He hoped to accomplish this through Sylvanas, whom he deceived into believing that his only goal was to grant freedom beyond life and death. Zovaal would have been driven to nonexistence if not for the Alliance’s and the Horde’s combined efforts, Sylvanas’ treachery, and even an intervention from the resting spirit of Azeroth.

Sargeras

The Dark Titan Sargeras, an ancient entity from the dawn of existence, stands as a primal force of unparalleled danger within the annals of World of Warcraft lore. It was he who birthed the malevolent Burning Legion, shaping demons and other perilous entities under his dominion.

Sargeras could control almost anything he wanted. Throughout the entire franchise, the character has done amazing things like telepathy, making illusions, possessing people and bringing them back to life, and even making planets. So the story goes, powerful demons like Archimonde and Mannoroth are “insignificant beings” compared to Sargeras, which makes him a very powerful being.

Sargeras is a primordial force of nature, which means he can’t be destroyed at all. He was locked up in the Seat of the Pantheon only because of the heroes of Azeroth and the other Titans’ work in the last episode of Legion.

Aman’thul

Aman’thul, also referred to as the Highfather of the Pantheon, is the head of the Titans, ancient entities that brought the universe into being. Aman’thul was possibly the oldest entity in history when he rose and led the other Titans at the “Ordering.”

It is claimed that Aman’thul possesses great wisdom and strength, as seen by his ability to nurture World Souls until they become Titans in their own right. Aman’thul can also bestow upon the skills of other creatures. For example, Aman’thul granted Nozdormu the ability to travel through time at the creation of the Dragon Aspects.

Aegwynn

Aegwynn, or Magna Aegwynn, is regarded among mage circles as one of the greatest sorcerers in history. She was granted extraordinary magical abilities and longevity as a Guardian. After giving her magical abilities to her baby son, the Guardian Medivh, Aegwynn lost a huge amount of them. Her knowledge of ancient magics, however, has not faded, and even Jaina has sought her advice. Up until her passing, Aegwynn would act as Jaina’s chamberlain. When the Dark Titan tried to return to Azeroth 9,000 years after the War of the Ancients, Aegwynn was ready to battle the Burning Legion, even going so far as to destroy Sargeras’ avatar.

Throughout the rich history of Azeroth in World of Warcraft, iconic NPCs have shaped its destiny. From Tyrande Whisperwind’s enduring leadership to Sargeras’s universe-shaking power, these characters have left an indelible mark on the game’s lore.
