Born and raised in Mississauga, filmmaker Marcus Letts is the mind behind Uncommon Video. Marcus Letts has collaborated alongside local and worldwide talent to bring his ideas to life. His work spans from music videos with the likes of Money Man, Yung Tory, and Anders, commercials for McDonald’s and Reese Puffs, to his most current project CALEB, a short film written, directed and edited by Marcus. Set to debut March 3, 2022, Marcus worked alongside many of his previous collaborators and long-time friends to tell a story he feels speaks to the upcoming generation.

When Marcus and I first met, Uncommon was vastly different from what it is today, but his passion for creating and the vision for turning it into something bigger was always there. Originally just being the name of his first skate film, Marcus was able to pull from his different inspirations and influences from his life to create a film that was undeniably him. Over the years Marcus transformed Uncommon to feature lines of clothing, a radio show, and pop-up events with live shows. Today Uncommon has grown with him and flourished under his career as a videographer, but he did it all while following the same ideology that granted him success originally and stayed true to himself.

And he has never struggled to be his own person. Marcus is determined, talented, ambitious and has a drive for creating that will help propel him to new heights. I’ve seen it in person during the shooting of CALEB, one moment he’ll be having the whole cast and crew laughing and the next he will be locked into the scene making sure everything goes to plan. The sky’s the limit for Marcus and I can’t wait to see where he will go.

Having grown up together since the age of two, it was clear that from a young age Martina Ortiz Luis was imbued with the gift of artistic talent complemented by immense love and passion for performing. It became no surprise that she would pursue a career as a singer-songwriter and actor.

Since we were small, she has been sharing her awe-inspiring gifts and talent with audiences at hundreds of events throughout Canada. At the age of 15, she became the first-ever official anthem singer for the Toronto Maple Leafs and immediately stole the hearts of Leaf’s fans everywhere. Through this, she was granted the unique opportunity of being able to grow alongside the team and nearly six seasons later, she still never fails to amaze and liven up entire hockey arenas.

In 2020, she landed her first major television/film acting role as a series regular on Syfy’s “Wynonna Earp,” which marked a new milestone in her career as an actor.

When she’s not on set or on the ice, she’s in the studio, writing and recording original singles such as “These Days”, “What U Waitin’ For”, and my personal favourite, “Irrelevant”.

I’ve always admired her not just for her creativity and unrelenting work ethic, but also for her kindheartedness. Between auditions, recording sessions and working her magic at Leafs’ games, she still makes time to show love to those closest to her. She has already accomplished so much and I can only imagine what’s in store for her bright future!

Which ‘hood are you in?

I live in Vaughan but you’ll almost always find me hanging around Downtown Toronto.

What do you do?

I’m a singer, songwriter, actor, and official anthem singer for the Toronto Maple Leafs.

What are you currently working on?

I just released a song called “What U Waitin’ For” and I recently wrapped as a regular on a couple tv series, including a new musical series called “Topline” which should be released sometime this year. Now that I have some downtime, I’m about to start a weekend course at UofT (just for fun) and I’ve been writing quite a bit. You can also catch me singing at all Leafs home games!

Where can we find your work?

You can find my music, including “What U Waitin’ For” on all your favourite music platforms including Spotify, Apple Music, Tidal, etc. The fourth season of “Wynonna Earp” is available on Crave here in Canada and on Netflix in the States. You can also catch me as a guest on “Questionable Taste” available on Bell Fibe TV1. And I’ve got more very cool projects coming out soon, so be sure to follow me on socials for updates! 🙂 Instagram | Twitter

I don’t think you will ever meet a more colourful human – inside and out. Jacquie’s life and entire world revolves around colour.

Colour has been a key part of her life, her upbringing growing up in Panama, from the way she dresses, to her lifestyle, to her daily life and mindfulness, and mental health practices, she embodies and consciously surrounds herself with colour.

She is a light-worker, a colourist extraordinaire, bringing colour psychology and vibrancy to unexpected spaces, creating large-scale installations of colour, that encourage self-reflection and mindfulness.

In the fall of 2020, Jacquie began production for a colour installation on Dupont and Dufferin.

At 7.5 months pregnant and with a big belly, given the green light by her birth team, Jacquie completed her last installation before becoming a mother. She described her experience as one of the toughest and most magical, creating art while her body creates life.

She dedicated the work the Renaissance of Mother Gaia to her son Maximus Cyan (You read right – Cyan after her favourite colour. Surprised?)

A year later, Jacquie returns to spreading colour, aiming to create a more colourful world for her son to grow up in.
